Reiner E. Moritz

Reiner Eberhard Moritz (* 1938 in Hanover ) is a German film director and film producer . Moritz made an internationally recognized name for himself in the field of art and cultural documentaries, which he realized "with expertise and the highest quality standards".

Life

Moritz studied musicology , German and Romance languages . In 1970 he was researched at the University of Munich on the German-language travelogues of the 14th to 16th PhD in the 19th century . He began his professional career as a music journalist.

In 1977 he founded RM Creative Fernseh- und Film-GmbH in Munich , which still exists today. In 1978, the RM Arts TV and Film GmbH was founded , which later passed to the Kirch Group and has been owned by Arthaus Musik since 2005 with rights to around 900 productions . RM Arts produced a large number of documentaries in the fields of music and visual arts .

From 1981, RM Arts produced the painting series 1000 masterpieces under the direction of Moritz for WDR ; The cameraman was Konrad Kotowski . Moritz knew the Russian composer Dmitri Schostakowitsch personally and wrote the documentary A Man with Many Faces about him in 2014/15 .
