Reinhard Hesse (philosopher)

Reinhard Hesse (born June 6, 1945 in Warstein ) is a German philosopher .

Life

After graduating from high school at Ostendorf-Gymnasium Lippstadt , he studied philosophy, history, Romance studies and political science in Konstanz (from 1966), Strasbourg and Gießen (MA, lic. Phil. And state exams (philosophy, history) at the University of Konstanz ). After receiving his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Konstanz (subject of the dissertation: "History with a practical purpose. Suggestions and criticism." ( Doctoral supervisor : Friedrich Kambartel ) he was a research assistant in philosophy at the universities of education in Ludwigsburg and Esslingen from 1974 to 1989 . From 1977 to 2010 DAAD philosophy guest professorships for 1–3 months each at universities in Sorbonne Université , Shanghai , New Delhi , Mysore (India), Rio de Janeiro , Goiania , Recife , Bandung , Sofia , Aichi (lectures German, English, French, Portuguese and Spanish). From 1989 to 1993 he taught as DAAD philosophy visiting professor at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina ; Task: Development of a master’s course (MA) in philosophy in cooperation with the Brazilian Ministry of Education the habilitation in political ethics at the University of Rostock in 1991. Topic: “The unity of reason as a survivor ed condition of the pluralistic world ”he taught from 1994 to 1995 as a professor (C4) for international relations at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Giessen and from 1996 until his retirement in 2010 at the chair (C4) for philosophy and ethics at the PH Freiburg . From 1999 to 2002 he had several assignments on behalf of the German government in a World Bank project : advising the Colombo Ministry of Science on the reform of teacher training institutions in Sri Lanka. From 2011 to 2012 he was an advisor to the Dushanbe Ministry of Education (EU project for Central Asia) on behalf of the German government for six months. On behalf of the Foreign Office in Berlin, he was OSCE election observer at presidential resp. Parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria.

He is a member of the German Society for Philosophy, the Society for Critical Philosophy and the German Society for Foreign Policy, Berlin.
