The Rema Tip Top AG , based in Poing near Munich was founded in 2007 as a subsidiary of Stahlgruber established group. The mother Stahlgruber has been part of the US auto parts company LKQ since 2018.

Rema Tip Top offers products in the automotive segment : repair materials, valves , weights and machines for workshop equipment; the range of services also includes tire repairs for bicycles , cars , trucks and motorcycles through to OTR and EM tires. In the Material Processing and Surface Protection segments , the product portfolio corresponds to conveyor systems and processing technology as well as wear and corrosion protection . Services and material systems maximize the operational readiness of production systems for bulk material handling , raw material extraction and raw material processing. The company currently employs around 6,700 people and is represented in over 170 countries. Further production sites are located in Fürstenzell , Desdorf, Wittenberg , Somplar , Nauen , Middenmeer ( Netherlands ), Poznań ( Poland ), Howick and Benoni ( South Africa ), Madison ( USA ), Guangzhou ( China ) and Nagoya ( Japan ).

history

The company's history from 1923 to 2007 can not be clearly separated from today's parent company Stahlgruber . From 1937 tube patches were produced for the repair of tires, from 1938 also sleeves and tire plasters. Shortly after the end of the war, a cold vulcanizing material was developed that made temperature-resistant hose repair possible for the first time. The product was named "Tip Top". The plant in Poing was opened in 1954 . Wear protection material was produced from 1965 and the first vulcanizing devices from 1969.

In 2007 Rema Tip Top AG was founded. In 2008 the merger to Stahlgruber Otto Gruber AG took place, in 2009 the acquisition of Dunlop Belting (Pty.) Ltd. in South Africa, the establishment of the LSCE Logistic Service Center Europe and the establishment of the Rema Tip Top Latin America SPA . In 2010, manufacturing and development departments were merged into the independent Alfa Development GmbH .

Automotive segment

The automotive segment is represented in the areas of tire repair, tire service and workshop equipment. Through cooperation with tire manufacturers and retreading providers, Rema Tip Top AG offers system solutions for the tire market. These are a complete range of in-house products, merchandise and a range of services.

Material Processing segment

The core competence of this segment is to maximize the operational readiness of production plants. The product portfolio for conveyor and system technology consists of wear protection, repair material and repair tools as well as conveyor belts . The most important industries currently include mining , power plants and port facilities .

Surface Protection segment

Natural and synthetic materials that have a high resistance to chemical, thermal and mechanical loads are used for surface and corrosion protection. The customers of Rema Tip Top are predominantly in the chemical industry and in industrial areas where work is carried out with aggressive materials that attack the surfaces or whose systems are exposed to extreme environmental pollution.

The Rema Tip Top Group is networked worldwide: five holding companies , 76 subsidiaries and affiliated companies as well as over 170 partners on all five continents of the world.

Product range with associated branch

According to the company, the majority of the materials and solutions used are developed in its own laboratories. Rubber is used to manufacture a large number of Rema Tip Top products . This is required for the production of rubber , which is also produced by Rema Tip Top .

The company's products are manufactured with CKW and aromatic-free vulcanizing solutions, adhesive systems and cleaning agents. According to Rema Tip Top, the production process takes place in accordance with the latest environmental regulations worldwide and the new requirements of the mining and food industries .

The requirements for product creation and application correspond to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008 certification and characterize the company's quality management. In addition, all branches are continuously certified by Rema Tip Top in accordance with the Safety Certificate Contractors (SCC) regulations. This is a management system that combines occupational safety, health and environmental protection issues.
