Renan dos Santos , called Renan , (born May 18, 1989 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Renan came from the youth football center Centro de Futebol Zico do Rio SE of the former national player Zico . From here he moved to Botafogo FR in 2006 in the club's youth team. In 2008 he made the leap to the first team here. On May 11, 2008 he played his first game as a professional in Serie A against Sport Recife . The player also competed internationally in the season. At the Copa Sudamericana 2008 he played against Estudiantes de La Plata on November 6th .

In the eight years as a professional at Botafogo FR, Renan has had various appearances and never got beyond the status of reserve goalkeeper. In early 2016 he moved to Avaí FC in Florianópolis . Here he played all mandatory league games in his first season in 2016. His move to Bulgaria was announced on January 7, 2017 . Renan went to Ludogorez Razgrad . He received a three-year contract here. Renan played his first game in the Bulgarian A Grupa in the 2016/17 season in the away game against CSKA Sofia on April 1, 2017. With Ludogorez, Renan celebrated the national championship that season. With the club Renan appeared for the first time at the European club level. In the UEFA Champions League 2017/18 his club met on 12 July 2017 the second qualifying round to FK Žalgiris Vilnius .
