Jakub Świerczok (born December 28, 1992 in Tychy ) is a Polish football player .

Career

In the club

Jakub Świerczok was already considered a promising talent in his youth. After his youth, he was added to the squad of the second team of Polonia Bytom in 2009 . For the 2011/12 season , the young player received a professional contract that ran until June 30, 2014 and was numbered 10. In the first half of the season, Swierczok played 18 league games and scored twelve goals.

On January 1, 2012, the German Bundesliga club 1. FC Kaiserslautern announced the commitment of Świerczok. Świerczok signed a three-and-a-half-year contract until June 30, 2015 and was number 31.

On January 21, 2012 (18th matchday) the striker celebrated his Bundesliga debut in the home game against Werder Bremen . He stood on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.

At the end of July 2012, Świerczok was loaned to the Polish first division club and promoted team Piast Gliwice for the 2012/13 season in order to gain more match practice and experience.

Due to an operation on the cruciate ligament in September 2012, he could only play one game for Piast Gliwice . Shortly after his recovery and return to Kaiserslautern, he suffered another severe cruciate ligament injury in the summer of 2013. At the end of 2014, his contract with the FCK was terminated. At the beginning of January 2015 he signed a contract with the relegation-threatened Polish first division club Zawisza Bydgoszcz . However, he only stayed there until the summer break and moved to league rivals Górnik Łęczna on July 1, 2015 , where the striker had a contract until June 30, 2017. Only one year later, Świerczok went to the 2nd Polish league with GKS Tychy , where he signed a contract until summer 2018. Nevertheless, he left the club in the summer of 2017.

After a strong first half of 2017/18 at Zagłębie Lubin with 16 goals in 21 games, Swierczok moved on to the Bulgarian first division club Ludogorez Razgrad during the winter break . With the club he took part in the Europa League 2018/19 and scored a goal in the 1-1 draw against FC Zurich .

National team

Świerczok first played for Poland's U-20 national team . On September 7, 2011, he scored the only goal for the Polish team in a 48th minute penalty in the 2-1 defeat against Italy . On June 1, 2012, he played his first international match for the U-21 national team of Poland . Poland won the game against Moldova 4-2.

On November 10, 2017, he made his senior national team debut in a friendly against Uruguay (0-0) in Warsaw . In the 67th minute he came on for Kamil Wilczek . He was also used again three days later against Mexico (0-1). His last international match so far was against Nigeria (0: 1) in Wroclaw on March 23, 2018 .
