geography

Rengetsweiler is about seven kilometers southeast of the city center. The municipal area covers around 505 hectares (as of December 31, 2010).

history

Rengetsweiler was first mentioned in 1256. At that time, Rudolf von Reischach transferred a fiefdom that had previously belonged to the Trochtelfingen rulership and was owned by Count Rudolf von Tübingen. The place was originally in the area of Goldineshuntare , then in Gau Ratoldesbuch and later in the county of Sigmaringen . In the 13th century, the Wald monastery received several property in the village, in 1366 Ulrich von Homburg donated the great and small tithes to the monastery. Although the nuns of the Walder monastery tried for centuries, they never achieved suzerainty in Rengetsweiler, the only village in the area. At the beginning of the 14th century , the local ruler was Austria , then Württemberg , Werdenberg and finally in 1535 the county of Hohenzollern . Later ownership passed to Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen . The owners of the count's rights changed with the owners of the county of Sigmaringen. Until 1828 the village belonged to the Princely Oberamt Sigmaringen , then to the Princely and from 1850 as part of the Hohenzollernsche Land until 1862 to the Prussian Oberamt Wald , since then again to the Oberamt and (from 1925) District Sigmaringen. In the 13th century, lords of Nenzingen, lords of Reischach and count palatine of Tübingen had ownership and rights in the place .

Together with the former neighboring communities of Dietershofen and Ringgenbach , the previous community of Rengetsweiler became a suburb of Messkirch on January 1, 1975 on the occasion of the community reform. At that time, Rengetsweiler was unsuccessful with its lawsuit against this incorporation before the State Court.

coat of arms

Blazon : In a divided shield above in gold a double-rowed red-silver slanting bar, below in red a standing deer.

In Rengetsweiler, the Wald monastery had owned land since the 13th century and had titled rights since 1366. This is indicated by the Cistercian bar , which cannot appear here on a black background, as it would correspond to the coat of arms of the order, because black is not allowed to stand next to red. The location in the area of the former county of Sigmaringen is expressed by the golden stag in a red field.

The coat of arms was proposed by the Sigmaringen State Archives in 1952. It was awarded on December 16, 1952 by the Württemberg-Hohenzollern Ministry of the Interior (IM: No. IV 31 / Rengetsweiler-Sigmaringen / 2 from January 30, 1953).
