The Gm 3/3 is a three-axle diesel - electric shunting locomotive of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) . The three machines with road numbers 231 to 233 were put into operation between 1975 and 1976.

According to the original idea, the manufacturer, the French company Moyse , was to take over most of the assemblies from the series production of a French locomotive type. The many special requests from the RhB - MTU diesel engine , vacuum brake , multiple controls , driver's cab equipment according to RhB standards - forced extensive changes and considerably delayed the delivery of the vehicles ordered at the beginning of 1974.

The hourly output of the maximum 55 km / h, 34 t heavy locomotives is 220 kW . A gear connected downstream of the DC drive motor can be used to switch between maneuvering and driving gear.

The originally red-brown, since the beginning of the 1990s painted traffic orange, Gm 3/3 perform the heavy shunting service at the Landquart , Chur and Untervaz stations as planned . Thanks to their high starting tractive effort (in the shunting gear 153 kN ) and the possible double traction , the robust vehicles are also suitable for heavy construction train service. Snow clearing trips - together with the small Xrotm 9216 snow blower or the large Xrotmt 9217 - are also part of the operational program.
