The Rhins (in the upper reaches: Reins ) is a river in France that runs in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the mountains of the Beaujolais , in the municipality of Thel , initially drains in a southerly direction, later turns to the west, then turns to the north and after 60 kilometers flows into the Loire as a right tributary on the eastern outskirts of Roanne . On its way, the Rhins crosses the Rhône and Loire departments .
