Richard Graf Matuschka-Greiffenclau
Richard Maria Albert Emmerich Wilhelm Graf von Matuschka, Baron von Greiffenclau, Baron von Toppolczan and Spaetgen, called Count Matuschka-Greiffenclau (born May 11, 1893 in Wiesbaden ; † January 4, 1975 at Schloss Vollrads ) was a German winery owner , at times also Hessian politician ( center , CDU ) and member of the Hessian state parliament .
education and profession
Richard Graf Matuschka-Greiffenclau was born as the son of Guido von Matuschka-Greiffenclau and Klara nee. Baroness of Oppenheim . He attended secondary school and studied law at the Universities of Bonn and Berlin and for nine months at the teaching and research institute for wine, fruit growing and horticulture in Geisenheim . In 1911 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . In 1914 he became a court trainee in Berlin before he was a military officer as a reserve lieutenant from 1914 to 1918 . After 1918, he served in the Prussian administrative service as a Councilor and Speaker of viticulture and agriculture at the Provincial President of the Rhine Province . In 1934 he was dismissed from civil service by the National Socialists . From 1935 to 1975 he was landlord at Schloss Vollrads near Winkel in the Rheingau , after his death the Schloss Vollrads winery was taken over by his son Erwein Graf Matuschka-Greiffenclau .

Count Matuschka-Greiffenclau was married to Eleonore Countess von Neipperg (* August 26, 1912 † January 9, 1989), the marriage had three children: Karl Philipp Graf Matuschka-Greiffenclau (* July 7, 1937), Erwein Graf Matuschka- Greiffenclau (born November 15, 1938; † August 19, 1997) and Ernst Egon Graf Matuschka-Greiffenclau (born April 25, 1943; † 1999)
politics
Richard Graf Matuschka-Greiffenclau was deputy chairman of the Nassau Center Party before 1933. In 1945 he was one of the founders of the CDU in Hesse. For the CDU he was from February 26, 1946 to July 14, 1946 a member of the appointed advisory state committee , from July 15, 1946 to November 30, 1946 a member of the state assembly advising the constitution of Greater Hesse and from July 4, 1947 to September 30, 1946 . November 1950 member of the Hessian state parliament.
Other offices
Richard Graf Matuschka-Greiffenclau was President and Honorary President of the German Viticulture Association , co-founder of the German Wine Promotion and Viticulture Congress and from 1958 to 1970 a member of the Economic and Social Committee of the EEC .
