Richard Müller (politician, 1851)
Richard Müller (born October 6, 1851 in Fulda ; † November 14, 1931 ibid) was a German politician (center) and factory owner.
Life
Müller was the owner of a factory and as such was also involved in social issues.
For the Center Party , he was a member of the Reichstag for the constituency of Kassel 7 ( Fulda - Schlüchtern ) from 1893 to 1898 , from 1898 to 1903 for the Wiesbaden 1 constituency, and again for the Kassel 7 constituency from 1903 to 1918 (Fulda -Schlüchtern) and finally in 1919 a member of the Weimar National Assembly . In 1902 and 1903 he met Reich Chancellor Bernhard von Bülow at his invitation to numerous confidential talks. Twice, Müller turned down the post of finance minister that was offered to him. His political foster son was Matthias Erzberger .
The city of Fulda recognized his commitment in 1983 and named the Richard Müller School after him in 1983 . Furthermore, a street in the north end of Fulda bears his name. His tombstone is preserved in the old municipal cemetery.
The sales stamp was created at his suggestion .
