Richard "Rick" Parry (born November 2, 1987 in Kauri , New Zealand ) is a New Zealand ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with the West Auckland Admirals in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League since 2013 .

Career

Club

Richard Parry began his career as a hockey player with the South Auckland Sworm , for whom he made his debut in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League in the 2005 season . He later played for the West Auckland Admirals and Dunedin Thunder , for which he was active for four seasons, in the same league. In 2012 he moved to the third French division for the Hockey Club de Cergy-Pontoise . After a year in France, he returned to the southern hemisphere in the summer, where he was initially in goal with Adelaide Adrenaline in the Australian Ice Hockey League . Since 2014 he has played again for the West Auckland Admirals in the New Zealand League.

National team

Parry played in the junior division for New Zealand at the U18 World Cup in 2005 in Division III and in the U20 World Cup in 2006 in Division II.

For the men's selection , he played at the Division II World Championships in 2008 , 2010 , 2011 , 2013 , 2015 , 2016 when he was voted the best player on his team, and in 2017 when he was voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament, as well as the Division III 2009 . He achieved both the best catch quota and the lowest number of goals conceded per game in the 2009, 2011 and 2017 tournaments. In 2015 it had the second best and in 2013 and 2016 the third best catch quota of the tournament.
