Richard Pavlikovský (born March 3, 1975 in Ilava , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak ice hockey player who was under contract with the Krefeld Penguins from the German Ice Hockey League between 2005 and 2013 . In addition, he played for HC Dukla Trenčín , HV 71 Jonkoping the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg and Orli Znojmo .
Career
In the 1992/1993 season, the then 17-year-old was able to make his debut in the first division of Czechoslovakia at HC Dukla Trenčín and scored his first scorer point in eight appearances with an assist . In the following 1993/94 season, the defender brought it to 30 missions in the newly founded Slovakian Extra League and scored three assists, whereupon he received a place in the squad of the Junior World Cup for the team in his home country. In the following season, the right-handed shooter scored three goals and four assists in 35 missions and was able to increase his goal rate significantly in the following years.
In 1997/98 he improved his personal best in 46 games with 13 goals and nine assists to 22 points, whereupon foreign clubs became aware of the defender, so that Pavlikovský finally moved to the Czech extra league for HC Havířov after eight years in Trenčín . Here the Slovak was again able to record six goals and eleven assists in the much stronger league, making him the top scorer among the team's Blueliners and third-best scorer. As a result, Richard Pavlikovský was appointed to the squad of the Slovak national team for the first time in 2001 , for which he took part in the World Cup in Germany , but was eliminated there in the quarter-finals against the Czech Republic .
For the following season Pavlikovský signed a contract with HV 71 Jönköping from the Swedish Elitserien . Here the defender was able to score nine goals and eight assists in 48 season and play-off games and record plus / minus statistics of +13. In addition, the defensive player was part of the Olympic squad for the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City . In the summer of 2003, Pavlikovský moved within the league to Leksands IF , where his contract was not extended after one season and the Slovak then moved to the German Ice Hockey League to the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg .
After a strong start in Wolfsburg, the Slovak sustained a serious shoulder injury, so that he was only able to play 29 games including the relegation round. Pavlikovský achieved four goals and 16 points. However, the descent of Lower Saxony led to the dissolution of the contract and the defender switched to the Krefeld Pinguinen for the 2005/06 season , where he signed a one-year contract that was later extended to 2012.
After the 2012/13 season, his contract was not renewed due to a planned rejuvenation of the team. In the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons he played for the Czech club Orli Znojmo in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League . For the 2015/16 season, the now 40-year-old Pavlikovsky will move to his hometown club HC Dukla Trenčín , end his career in 2016 and return to the ice for a game in spring 2017.
