Richard Sachse (Lieutenant General)

Johann Richard Sachse (born October 17, 1847 in Dresden , † June 3, 1923 in Niederlößnitz ) was a royal Saxon lieutenant general . After his first departure from the military in 1900 as major general, he was a member of the Niederlößnitz municipal council and one of the founders of the Radebeul-West forest park . During the First World War, Sachse was used again for military service.

Live and act

Sachse joined the Saxon Army in 1866 as Portepeefähnrich , was promoted to secondary lieutenant in the same year and took part in the war against France in 1870/71 . In the further course of his military career he rose to lieutenant colonel and was head of the military and economics department in the War Ministry. In this position, Sachse was promoted to colonel on April 20, 1895 and in 1896 he took over command of the 2nd Grenadier Regiment No. 101 "Kaiser Wilhelm, King of Prussia" in the Dresden grenadier barracks in Albertstadt from Paul von Hingst . He commanded this association until 1899, when he handed it over to Colonel Paul Vitzthum von Eckstädt and took over the 3rd Infantry Brigade No. 47 (within the 2nd Division No. 24 ) in Leipzig from Lothar von Hausen with simultaneous appointment as major general. He handed over his command to Alexander von Friesen on March 29, 1900 , was first transferred to the army officers and, on August 24, 1900, was put up for disposition in approval of his resignation request with a pension and authorization to wear his uniform . On the occasion of its adoption king granted him Albert the Commander II. Class of Civil Merit .

Sachse moved to Niederlößnitz, where he bought a villa at Oberen Bergstrasse 45. From 1904 until the outbreak of World War I in 1914, Sachse was a member of the Niederlößnitz municipal council. Around 1907 he was chairman of the Conservative State Association in Saxony .

During the First World War he was re-used as a ZD officer and was a delegate of voluntary nursing at the Deputy General Command of the XII. (I. Royal Saxon) Army Corps . As such, Sachse received the character of Lieutenant General on June 14, 1915 with the predicate of excellence .
