Richfield is a city in the US state of Minnesota . It is located in Hennepin County and is a suburb of the Twin Cities , bounded by Minneapolis in the north, Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport in the east, Bloomington in the south and Edina in the west. At the 2000 census , the population was 34,439. Best Buy , the largest electronics retailer in the United States, is based in Richfield.

After the census in 2000 34,439 people in 15,073 households and 8,727 families live in Richfield. For the 15,357 houses the density is 859.3 houses per km². Racially, the population is composed of 81.25% White, 6.65% African-Americans, 0.72% Native Americans, 5.3% Asians, 0.04% Pacific Islanders, and 3.41% % from other races. About 6.27% of the population are Spanish or Latinos.
