The Roßlau type is a series of five-unit coasters made by the Roßlau shipyard .

history

The ships were built from 1991 to 1993 for the Bockstiegel shipping company in Emden . The construction of the five coasters for the shipping company Bockstiegel and six other coasters for the shipping company HH Wübbe Nachf. In Hamburg saved the shipyard , which got into economic difficulties after German reunification .

The shipping company Bockstiegel handed over the management of the ships to the shipping company Erwin Strahlmann at the beginning of 2002 . In 2004 the ships from Bockstiegel were sold to Strahlmann.

The vessels are of a Deutz - MWM - diesel engine of the type SBV 6 M 628 with 600  kW power driven, via a reduction gear to a fixed propeller act. Two MWM diesel generators of type D234 V8, each with an output of 104 kW, are available for power generation. A Deutz diesel generator of the type F5L 413 FR with 68 kW output was installed for port and emergency operations. The ships are equipped with an electrically powered bow thruster with an output of 140 kW.

The deck superstructures are aft. The bridge deck is separate from the rest of the superstructure and can be adjusted in height. In addition, the two ship masts can be folded under bridges. There is a 52 meter long and 9 meter wide cargo area in front of the superstructure . The height of the room is 6.49 meters. The cargo hold of the ships is box-shaped and closed with hydraulically operated folding hatch covers. The ships are equipped with two bulkheads . The tank cover can be loaded with 12 t / m², the hatch cover with 1.5 t / m².

The ships are equipped for the transport of containers . The container capacity is 80  TEU .

The ships, which are named after places in East Frisia , sail under the flag of Antigua and Barbuda with their home port of St. John’s .
