Róbert Péter (born October 7, 1983 in Miercurea Ciuc ) is a Romanian ice hockey player who has been playing again at HSC Csíkszereda in the Romanian ice hockey league and the MOL league since 2015 .

Career

Club

Róbert Péter, who belongs to the Hungarian-speaking Szekler minority in Romania , began his career at SC Miercurea Ciuc, for which he played with a short break in the 2001/02 to 2010 season. In 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2010 he became Romanian champions with the club from his hometown and also won the national cup competition in 2007, 2008 and 2010 . In addition to his appearances in the Romanian ice hockey league, he also played with the traditional Szekler club in the Hungarian league and, from 2008, in the MOL league and the Pannonian league , which was won in 2004. From 2010 he was under contract with the ASC Corona 2010 Brașov . With the Kronstadters he won the cup in 2013 and 2015 and won the Romanian national championship in 2014. After five years, he returned to his parent club, which was now called HSC Csíkszereda , and won the Romanian cup competition with him again in 2016.

International

In contrast to other Szeklers who compete for Hungary , Péter plays internationally for his native Romania . He was already active in the junior division at world championships: he took part in the U18 world championships in 2000 in Europe division I and 2001 in division III as well as in the U20 world championships in 2001 and 2002 in division III and in 2003 in division II.

With the men's national team , Péter played at the World Championships in 2004 and 2016 in Division I. In Division II, he was active at the World Championships in 2006 , 2008 and 2010 . He also represented his colors at the qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Winter Games in Turin 2006 , Vancouver 2010 and Pyeongchang 2018 .
