Hermann Emil Bonaventura Robert Hartmann , von Hartmann since 1862 (born November 19, 1802 in Fraustadt , † March 11, 1876 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Robert was the son of the Justice Commissioner von Fraustadt and later criminal councilor in Glogau Daniel Hartmann (1769-1832) and his wife Christiane, née George.

Military career

Hartmann joined the 5th Artillery Brigade of the Prussian Army as a gunner on July 15, 1816 . From October 1, 1819 to June 30, 1821, he graduated from the United Artillery and Engineering School and advanced to secondary lieutenant in early March 1821 . On August 1, 1831, he was transferred to the artillery examination commission and rose to the position of superfluous captain by the beginning of April 1840 . Hartmann was also a regular member of the Artillery Examination Commission and was added to the budget on June 30, 1840. On June 22, 1850 he was aggregated to the 5th Artillery Regiment and on November 1, 1850 à la suiteof the regiment. He was promoted to major on May 27, 1852 and was from July 16, 1853 also a member of the examination board for prime lieutenants of the artillery. Hartmann was promoted to colonel by the end of May 1859 and received several awards in the period that followed. At the end of August 1860 he received the Commander's Cross II.
