Roger Victor Rakotondrajao

Roger Victor Rakotondrajao (born March 26, 1960 in Befelatanana ; † November 3, 2018 in Antananarivo ) was a Malagasy clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Mahajanga .

Life

Roger Victor Rakotondrajao was ordained a priest for the diocese of Miarinarivo on July 29, 1990 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on April 18, 2008 coadjutor bishop of Mahajanga. The Archbishop of Antananarivo , Armand Gaétan Cardinal Razafindratandra , donated him the episcopal ordination on July 6th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Michel Malo IdP , Archbishop of Antsiranana , and Augustine Kasujja , Apostolic Nuncio to Madagascar , Mauritius and the Seychelles and Apostolic Delegate to the Comoros .

With the resignation of Joseph Ignace Randrianasolo , he succeeded him on February 2, 2010 in the office of Bishop of Mahajanga. A few weeks after the youth meeting JMJ Mada 9 in Mahajanga, which he helped to organize , he had to undergo treatment in Antananarivo for heart problems. Here he died of cardiac arrest on November 3, 2018.
