Rogi is a village with a Schulzenamt of the municipality Miejsce Piastowe in the Powiat Krośnieński of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

The place is located on the Lubatówka brook in the Sanok lowlands . The neighboring towns are the seat of the municipality Miejsce Piastowe in the northeast, Iwonicz in the east, Lubatówka in the south, Równe in the southwest, and Wrocanka in the northwest. The state road DK 19 runs through Rogi and connects Białystok via Rzeszów with Barwinek on the border with Slovakia .

history

According to Adam Fastnacht , the village could have existed as an ethnic Polish settlement before 1340, in the time of the principality of Halych-Volodymyr , but the Schulzenamt in Rogy , a royal forest hoof village with 110 Franconian hooves on Magdeburg law , was not mentioned until 1358 (The copy from 1524 was incorrectly dated to 1348, which led to confusion in older and popular scientific literature) when it was sold by King Casimir the Great to Petro, the bailiff of the village of Kołaczyce . The sales document mentions a hoof that was to be intended for a [Roman Catholic] church. The place name has exclusively Polish phonetics (no local [Polish] or Ruthenian or Ukrainian properties).

In the 15th century, the area was partially settled by Forest Germans and the Nazi historian Kurt Lück referred to Rogi as a German village , but the researchers Adam Fastnacht and Wojciech Blajer saw individual German surnames as insufficient indicators for a final assessment.

When Poland was first partitioned in 1772, Rogi became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804). From 1855, Rogi belonged to the Krosno District .

After the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Rogi came to Poland in 1918. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . From 1975 to 1998 Rogi was part of the Krosno Voivodeship .
