Rohrbach is a village and cadastral municipality of the market town of Ziersdorf in Lower Austria .
geography
The place is located east of Horner Strasse and is traversed by the Rohrbach, which flows into the Schmida just outside .
history
Due to the frequent occurrence of the place name Rohrbach in the Weinviertel, it is hardly possible to make reliable statements about the Middle Ages. What is certain, however, is that the Passau Cathedral Chapter received several tens here around 1230. In the course of the Reformation Rohrbach got a Protestant pastor and in 1618 a Protestant cemetery was established, but the parish was orphaned again and was occupied by a Catholic pastor during the Baroque period.
After the reforms of 1848/1849 , Rohrbach was established as an independent municipality in 1850, which was subordinate to the Ravelsbach district until 1868 and then to the Hollabrunn district . In 1971 it merged to form the large community of Ziersdorf .
