Economy and Infrastructure

As early as July 1999 (expansion by 3 in December), the Zistersdorf wind farm of DonauWind Renewable Energy and BeteiligungsgesmbH was built on Steinberg northeast of Maustrenk, towards the Steinbergwald , with four 600 KW wind turbines on 70 m high towers. In the course of the bankruptcy of the company, these were sold to Poland in 2008 and the system was dismantled without leaving any residue. From the adjoining Prinzendorf wind field , built by Windkraft Simonsfeld  AG in 2003 (15 2 MW plants, 100 m towers), two wind turbines have been in Maustrenker's area since the expansion in 2009.

A wind farm with currently 7 2 MW wind turbines (105 m towers) from WEB Windenergie  AG was built in 2005 to the south-east of Maustrenk (Maustrenk wind farm) .
