Roman Blumenschein

Roman Blumenschein (* 1981 in Linz , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

Roman Blumenschein, who grew up in Upper Austria, initially trained as an actor at the Vienna Film School (2002 to 2003). He then completed his acting studies from 2003 to 2007 at the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna (formerly the Vienna Conservatory).

After completing his training, he received his first permanent engagement at the Regensburg City Theater , where he was part of the ensemble from 2007 to 2010. There he appeared as Happy in Death of a Salesman (2007), as Sebastian in Was ihr wollt , as Don Karlos (2009) and as Staff Captain Wassilij Wassiljewitsch Soljony in Three Sisters (2009). In Regensburg he worked with the directors Frank Asmus , Michael Bleiziffer and Annegret Ritzel . In 2010 he took on the role of Christian Buddenbrook in a stage version of Buddenbrooks at the Regensburg Theater, directed by Johannes Zametzer .

He then spent two seasons (2011-2012) at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna committed, where he, among others, as a lieutenant Demeter Stanzides in Schnitzler -Stück The Vast occurred. Since then he has been working as a freelance actor. In 2015 and 2017 he made guest appearances at the Perchtoldsdorf Summer Games as Sebastian in Der Sturm and as Wachtmeister Paul Werner in Lessing's Minna von Barnhelm .

In the 2015/16 season he appeared at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt as father Alain Reille in the four-person play The God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza . In the season 2016/17 he resigned in March 2017 in the title role of Isaac in the play Outlaw by Ayad Akhtar to the United Stages Bolzano on. In the 2017/18 season he took on the role of admirer Walter in the play Der thermal resistance by Ferdinand Schmalz (premiere: January 2018) at the Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen . In the 2018/19 season he played together with Peter Schorn at the Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen in the stage version of the bestseller Die Hauptstadt by Robert Menasse, developed by Tom Kühnel and Ralf Fiedler .

Blumenschein also took on a few film and television roles. The short film We Fly by Ulrike Kofler , with a flower in the male lead, received several awards at international film festivals. In February 2018 he was seen in an episode role in the Austrian crime series SOKO Kitzbühel ; He played the dubious tattoo artist Chris, who on the side earns money illegally with functional implants and is suspected of murder. In the 11th season of the Austrian TV series SOKO Donau (2019), Blumenschein took on one of the episode roles as flight attendant Tom Glockner and neighbor of Major Carl Ribarski.

Blumenschein also works as a narrator and narrator for radio , radio plays and TV documentaries. He is the father of a daughter and a son and lives in Vienna.
