The Roubion is a river in France that runs in the Drôme department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises at Col de la Sausse in the municipality of Chaudebonne , initially drains north and north-west, later swings to south-west to west, crosses the city of Montélimar and, after 67 kilometers, flows into the Rhône shortcut canal of Montélimar (French: Canal de dérivation de Montélimar ). The old course of the river is still endowed with water and after another four kilometers flows into the Rhône as a left tributary in the municipality of Châteauneuf-du- Rhône .
