Reviews

Filmstarts wrote: “There are many fascinating ideas in fame : topics such as celebrities, outsiders, the responsibility of the creative and the fragility of identity in the digital age - but hardly anything is deepened, hardly anything goes beyond commonplace. It is thanks to the strong actors and some funny narrative ideas that individual episodes are nevertheless quite touching and entertaining. " Jörg Schöning from Spiegel.de found similar: “ The settings and fates change like wildly in the film adaptation of Daniel Kehlmann's novel Ruhm . The concentrated German actors do not succeed in portraying the characters believably. And where do Senta Berger or Heino Ferch fail? On the template. "

Jakob Biazza from Focus.de praised the portrayals of the female protagonists in his review, but criticized the performance of the rest of the cast. He wrote: “The film is actually implemented very cleverly, impresses with its own ideas and great locations, financed by an armada of film funding agencies. Unfortunately, he forgets to take his heroes seriously. Fame can be marveled at. One can pay homage to its finesse. Even should. But it doesn't move. ”The German Film and Media Assessment (FBW) again awarded the feature film the rating“ particularly valuable. ”
