Russ Ballard
Russell Glyn "Russ" Ballard (born October 31, 1945 in Waltham Cross , Hertfordshire , England ) is a British rock musician , composer , record producer , singer and guitarist .
Career
Russ Ballard began his career in 1963 with the roulette and continued it in Unit 4 + 2 . From 1970 he joined the band Argent . The band had their greatest successes with his compositions. Ballard left Argent in 1974 to pursue a solo career. From then on he released his own albums, worked as a studio musician and wrote songs for many other artists, some of whom were commercially successful with them. He wrote the number one hit (United Kingdom) So You Win Again by Hot Chocolate (1977) and the glam rock classic New York Groove by Hello (1975). He also has the hits Since You Been Gone by Rainbow (1979) and I Know There's Something Going On by ABBA's Frida on her first solo album (1982). Russ Ballard also works as a music producer. His better-known songs, released under his own name, include his 1984 album Voices , Two Silhouettes and I Can't Hear You No More , as well as the title of the same name and Hey Bernadette from his 1985 album The Fire Still Burns . His album Book of Love was released on October 20, 2006 . After a nine-year break, he published his new work It's Good to Be Here in 2015 , which is only available by subscription from UMU Music.
In the United States he reached his only hit parade position under his own name with the single On the Rebound in 1980 (number 58).
