The SG Stern Germany e. V. was founded in 1986 as an umbrella organization for sports associations at the sites of the Daimler Group's plants and branches in Germany. In 2009 the entry was made in the association register. With 41,192 members (as of January 24, 2020) at 39 locations, it is one of the largest sports clubs in Germany. It is also the largest popular sports club with locations throughout Germany.
