The SIAI-Marchetti SF 600 (alternatively Canguro ) is a transport aircraft from the Italian manufacturer SIAI-Marchetti . SIAI-Marchetti developed this aircraft in the late 1970s.
history
The first flight of the SF 600 took place on December 30, 1978. At that time the aircraft still had a fixed landing gear . Only with the third prototype did the aircraft have a retractable landing gear for the first time . This prototype had its maiden flight in August 1984.
From 1987 the SF 600 TP Canguro was offered in series production with both fixed and retractable chassis. The SIAI-Marchetti SF 600 TP Canguro is equipped with two Allison 250 -B17C propeller turbines, each with 420 WPS (313 kW). The term TP stands for Turbo-Prop .
The maximum cruising speed is 306 km / h at an altitude of 1,500 meters. The continuous travel speed is 285 km / h. The SF 600 TP Canguro reaches its service ceiling at 7,300 m . The range with maximum payload is 600 km, while the transfer range with two 300-liter external tanks is specified as 2250 kilometers.
use
The SIAI-Marchetti SF 600 Canguro was offered for a range of uses. As
- light transport aircraft with a large sliding door for loading and unloading,
- as a small passenger aircraft for up to nine passengers and
- as a dropping aircraft for up to twelve parachutists .
Of the ten machines produced, only four are currently (as of September 2011) in active use. In addition to a prototype, a machine is in service with the Philippine Coast Guard and the Korean engineering office "PanAsia Engineering". The fourth aircraft is in service with the Slovenian "DC LET", where parachutists are dropped off with the aircraft registration number S5-CAM. The main base is Graz Airport in Austria .
