The 1974/75 season was the 44th and final season of the Finnish SM-sarja , which was replaced by the SM-liiga for the following season . Champion was for the fourth time in the club's history Tappara Tampere . SaiPa Lappeenranta and TuTo Hockey were relegated to the second class I-divisioona .

In the main round, each of the ten teams played a total of 36 games. The first place in the main round was champion. The last two in the main round were relegated to the I-divisioona. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
