Attractions

Parish Church of Saint-Denis

It was built between 1888 and 1889 as a replacement for the earlier church from the end of the 12th or the beginning of the 13th century. Part of the side walls of the nave remained from the original building . At the entrance there are noteworthy motifs on the capitals , possibly depicting hunting scenes. The glass windows are signed by the glass painter Gustave Pierre Dagrant from Bordeaux and dated to the year 1889. A ridge ridge protrudes from the roof. It is shaped like an arcade with two openings for the bells. The ceiling of the nave is provided with a false ribbed vault . Two statues from the 18th century have been inscribed as Monument historique since June 14, 1982 . They are polychrome painted from wood and are representations of Louis the Holy and James the Elder . Two oil paintings from the 17th and late 19th centuries have also been inscribed as Monument historique since October 20, 1980 . They show the Holy Family or the crucifixion scene .

Haumont Castle

According to C. Didon (1996) the cellar of the castle has a vault that can be dated to the 16th century. A large part of the building appears to have been rebuilt in the 17th century, as can be deduced from the year "1666", which can be seen on a sculptured stone above the entrance to the residential wing. An unidentifiable coat of arms can also be seen on this stone. The castle chapel was restored in the first half of the 19th century, as evidenced by an inscription above the entrance.
