Saint-Loup is a commune Déléguée in the French community Vindry-sur-Turdine with 1,075 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Rhône in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The residents call themselves Saint-Loupiens or Saint-Loupiennes .

Vindry district

On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Saint-Loup merged with Dareizé , Les Olmes and Pontcharra-sur-Turdine to form the Commune nouvelle Vindry-sur-Turdine. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Saint-Loup belonged to the canton of Tarare in the arrondissement of Villefranche-sur-Saône . It bordered in the north-west on Saint-Clément-sur-Valsonne (point of contact), in the north on Dareizé, in the north-east on Saint-Vérand , in the east on Sarcey , in the south-east on Les Olmes, in the south on Pontcharra-sur-Turdine, in the south-west with Saint-Forgeux and to the west with Tarare .
