Saku Ylätupa (born August 4, 1999 in Espoo ) is a Finnish football player who has been under contract with the Swedish first division club AIK Solna since January 2019 . He has been the Finnish international since January 2019 .

Career

Ylätupa moved to the youth academy of the record champions HJK Helsinki in 2014 , after having previously trained at FC Espoo and their farm team Leppävaara Ball . In the 2015 season he played for the first time for the HJK's second team, Klubi 04 in the third-class Kakkonen . Since his debut for this, he gave on May 9, 2015 in a 2-0 home win against JIPPO Joensuu . In his only third appearance on July 4th against FC Kiffen 08 , the 16-year-old Ylätupa scored twice in a 6-0 away win. At the end of the 2015 season, he had scored five goals in 14 appearances. In the following season he was used in the cup competitions for the first team. He also scored a goal in the 5-1 away win against AC Kajaani . Mainly, however, he came back for the reserve team at season, where he scored 12 goals in 16, including a hat-trick in the 4-1 home win against FC Kontu .

For the 2017 season , Ylätupa was loaned to the first division club Rovaniemi PS . Already in his second league appearance, he tied a brace in the 2: 4 home defeat against Vaasan Palloseura . In 20 other missions across all competitions, however, only one more hit was added.

On July 21, 2017, Saku Ylätupa moved to the Dutch honorary division Ajax Amsterdam , where he signed a three-year contract. There he was scheduled for his first season 2017/18 in the U-19 team, where he scored six goals in 30 games. He spent his second season 2018/19 with the reserve team Jong Ajax in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie , where he only made four appearances and one goal before his move.

On January 29, 2019, he moved to the Swedish first division club AIK Solna . There he was only used in six games in the 2019 season .

National team

Ylätupa represented his home country in various junior national teams, starting with the U-17 . On January 8, 2019, he made his debut for the A-selection when he came on for Lassi Lappalainen in the 68th minute of the friendly against Sweden .
