The Salzkammergut Cycle Path (R2) leads over 328 kilometers as a circular route from Bad Ischl past 13 lakes through the Salzkammergut .

Route

From Bad Ischl the path leads along the Traun and Traunsee to Gmunden . Continue via Aurach am Hongar to the largest Salzkammergutsee, the Attersee and on to Mondsee at the lake of the same name. This is followed by the Irrsee (also called Zellersee), Mattsee and Obertrumer See . The next destination is Salzburg . From Salzburg it goes on the route of the old Ischlerbahn to Eugendorf and on via St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang to Bad Ischl. The southern loop leads into the World Heritage Region Hallstättersee . From Obertraun it goes on to Bad Aussee . From Altaussee the path leads back to Bad Ischl on a forest road.
