Zimmermann Collection

The Zimmermann Collection is a private collection of over 60 ancient Greek vases, which the married couple Heidrun and Manfred Zimmermann have collected over more than 30 years.

The core and main part of the collection are Attic wine and ointment vessels, which were made between 560 and 350 BC. Chr. Created are. These are both black-figure and red-figure vases . The collection is one of the most important of its kind. The collection was located in the couple's private house for years and was exhibited from August 26, 2005 in the Bremen Antikenmuseum in Schnoor . Here the Heidrun and Manfred Zimmermann Foundation formed the main part of the collection. The museum was closed in December 2018 and the collection was given to the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg on permanent loan .
