Samo Salamon

Samo Šalamon (born September 10, 1978 ) is a Slovenian jazz guitarist .

Samo Šalamon studied classical guitar in Maribor ; At the end of 2000 he stayed in New York for the first time and had lessons with John Scofield , and in the following years with Rudy Linka , Tim Brady and Andrea Allione . He has been active in both the European and New York jazz scenes since the mid-2000s; He recorded his debut album Ornethology in 2003 in Ljubljana with Achille Succi , Salvatore Maiore and Zlatko Kaučič . In 2005 the live recording of Kei's Secret followed (with Achille Succi, Carlo DeRosa and Tyshawn Sorey ); 2008 a trio album with Tim Berne and Tom Rainey ( Duality ). In the following years he worked mainly with his own formations, for which he also composed, for example with his NYC Quintet (with Josh Roseman , Dave Binney, Mark Helias , Gerald Cleaver ), with his European Quartet (with Michel Godard , Luciano Biondini and Roberto Dani ) as well as with his Bassless Quartet (with 2014 John O'Gallagher , Loren Stillman , Roberto Dani).
