San Fernando is a metropolitan parish in Bukidnon Province on Mindanao Island in the Philippines . It has 56,138 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 24 barangays . It belongs to the first income bracket of the communities in the Philippines and is described as partially urbanized .
Their neighboring communities are Cabanglasan in the north, Malaybalay City in the northwest, Valencia City and Quezon in the west, Kapalong and Talaingod in the province of Davao del Norte in the east and south. The community is located approx. 70 km southeast of the provincial capital Malaybalay City, approx. 163 km south of the regional capital Cagayan de Oro , approx. 197 northwest of Davao City and approx. 250 km northeast of Cotabato City .
The community is located in the Pantaron Mountains, which rise to heights of about 2000 meters. The Kulaman and Mawa-e rivers flow through the municipality and have been recognized several times as the cleanest rivers in Bukidnon. Another river is the Salug, it is a headwaters of the Davao River .
