In 1998, Parker accepted a telephone offer from Studio Chicago to work as an assistant. Especially the industrial dance and industrial rock scene around the label Wax Trax! Records moved him to change location. Parker worked in the Chicago studio under Ministry producer Keith “Fluffy” Auerbach mainly on hip-hop productions and learned from him techniques of alienating singing, among other things. Soon after, Parker switched to a studio specializing in Gothic Rock , which was increasingly run down by the operator. With this in mind, he founded the studio Volume together with some friends . In 2001, Parker excelled as the recording engineer and producer of the debut EP for post-metal band Pelican . His commitment to the EP, which led Pelican to a contract with Hydra Head Records , is considered Parker's breakthrough as a technician and producer. Since then he has worked as a producer and sound engineer for bands such as Blood Ceremony , Dark Castle , Indian , Leviathan and YOB . With his production activities, Parker is considered an important factor in the popularity of the Chicago metal scene .

At the same time as the production of Pelican's debut EP, Parker co-founded the sludge band Buried at Sea and thus laid the foundation for his career as a musician. In 2005, the stoner-doom band Minsk recorded their debut album Out of a Center Which Is Neither Dead nor Alive in Parker's Volume Studio. Parker produced and mixed the album and got involved as a singer and bassist , becoming a permanent member of the group from then on. Since then he has been involved in various projects and is a member of various bands from the genres of Doom and Extreme Metal. Among other things, Parker was a member of the bands Nachtmystium and Twilight in addition to Buried at Sea and Minsk . His active projects include the supergroup Corrections House and Mirrors for Psychic Warfare and Missing . The multi-instrumentalist acts in different functions in the bands. He gets involved as a singer, bassist, guitarist, keyboardist or programmer. Usually he also takes over the sound engineering and the production of the groups with his participation. On the other hand, he acts as a guest musician for many groups that he produces.

Studio Volume operated for about four years until the homeowner sold the building. Parker and his partners were unable to buy the building and began a long-term cooperation with Semaphore Recording Studios , which was closed in 2010. When the Semaphore Recording Studios closed, Parker installed a professional mixing workstation in his house and has continued to work as a sound engineer and producer, independent of a studio.

In 2013 founded Parker together with the singer and saxophonist Bruce Lamont ( Yakuza , Bloodiest , Corrections House), the independent label War Crime Recordings in which Lamont and Parker in addition to their own music groups other groups such as Kings Destroy , The Swan King and Rosetta under contract hold.
