Sara De Blue

Sara De Blue (* 1990 in Mittersill as Sara Koell ) is an Austrian singer and songwriter. Her stage name is derived from her melancholic, orchestral, mystical sound, her eyes and blue hair. Her favorite genres include jazz and pop.

Career

Sara de Blue started singing in bands at the age of 13 and won band competitions such as Spark 7 and took 3rd place in the Red Bull Band Competition. In 2011 she completed her studies with a bachelor's degree in music education and English at the Pedagogical University of Tyrol . Three years later she completed a course in jazz singing with Aja Zischg-Eberle and with Ingrid Moser as well as in improvised music, dance and drama at the Tyrolean State Conservatory . In spring 2019 she completed her IGP bachelor's degree at the Anton Bruckner University Linz in jazz singing and EMP with distinction. De Blue is a member of the Ö3 Airplay “New Comer Band” “Sunrise16”. Among others, she has worked with the following artists: Nadine Beiler , Camo & Krooked , Ludwig Coss, Eberhard Forcher , Max Herre , Philipp Van Het Velt, Lukas Hillebrand , Boss Hoss, Mano Michael , Nikodem Milewsky, Sekou Neblett, Robert Palfrader , Matthias Simoner , Anja Steinlechner, Zoë & Christof Straub , Mano Michael and Nathan Trent . In addition, she has already had several appearances on television and radio such as u. a. at the Ö3 Christmas miracle in Innsbruck, meeting point Ö3, ORF Good Morning Austria, ORF Welcome Austria, Puls 4 Breakfast TV, ORF Radio Tirol, Oe24 Star Magazin. The comedian Viktor Gernot invited her to his club "Casanova" as a guest singer.

In 2011, Sara de Blue emerged as the winner of the Austria-wide “YouTube Voting” at Austria's singing competition “The Voice 2011”. In addition, between 2014 and 2016 she received an appearance as a preliminary act at the “Kitzbühel Music Festival”. De Blue was the closing act of the 2016 Donauinselfest, where she appeared on the Fm4 stage together with Camo & Krooked. Furthermore, she was allowed to perform several times at the Pro7 Puls 4 Game Changers Festival. She was the first Austrian to sing the "new" national anthem at the 1st Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck in 2012 . Two years later she was the first Tyrolean of 15,000 applicants to make it into the top 40 of " The Voice of Germany ", was on the "The Boss Hoss" team and at that time was the only Austrian to get to the "Showdown", which was the last round before the final live shows. At the beginning of 2016 she was nominated by the ORF as a Eurovision Songcontest Wild Card candidate and released the song "Closer To The Sun" with Phillip Van Het Velt. Two years later Sara de Blue took part in 1 in 360 with “Out Of The Twilight” , which qualifies for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 , and took second place. The song was written with Zoe & Christof Straub and produced by Nikodem Milewsky.

In spring 2019 she was invited by the producer Thomas Rabitsch to the ORF-1 show "Dancing Stars" as a guest singer, where she performed together with the Dancing Stars Orchestra. A short time later, she appeared at the Life Ball with the electro swing DJ group Cirque De La Nuit, including Troy Savoy and Harvey Miller. In addition, Sara de Blue received the first prize at the Golden Stage Festival (Cerbul de Aur) in Brașov. Sara De Blue has been the singer of the ORF All Stars Band since 2019 and framed the ORF Licht ins Dunkel TV show with them on December 24, 2019.

De Blue lent her voice to the ING-DiBa commercial "Live to live", which can be seen on German-language television. In spring 2016 she sang the official bobsleigh and skeleton World Championship title "Catch The Fire" and opened the ceremony in Innsbruck and Igls .
