Schaetzel (also Schaetzell or Schätzel ) is

I.) a wealthy noble family in Pomerania and Brandenburg , which was later to be found in West Prussia .

II.) An old noble family who were wealthy in East Prussia , which probably came to Prussia with the Teutonic Order and according to their information has its origin in Bavaria .

I.) The documents from Schaetzel in 1740 zu Verbitz , a village with a manor at the time, were located 1½ miles northwest of Potsdam in the East Havelland . In 1772 to Kantow near Ruppin and to Döberitz, 1774 to Naulin (now Nowielin) near Pyritz and to Pitzervitz near Soldin .
