Schinkel-Ost is a district in the city of Osnabrück . It emerged from part of the former Schinkel district , which was incorporated into Osnabrück in 1914. Schinkel-Ost has 3,586 inhabitants (12/2018) spread over an area of 2.92 km². The district borders in the north on the Widukindland , in the east on Darum / Gretesch / Lüstringen , in the south on the Fledder and in the west on the current district of Schinkel.

The Schinkelberg in the north of Schinkel-Ost, which forms the border to the Widukindland, is largely forested. The main residential area of the district adjoins it to the south. Here are the cooperative Schinkel comprehensive school , the Diesterweg elementary school , the ev.-luth. Jakobuskirche and the Catholic Rosary Church. The facility of the Blau-Weiß Schinkel sports club is located in the east of the settlement on Gretescher Weg. Another sports facility is located in the west on Weberstrasse, on the slopes of the Schinkelberg, where the sports clubs SC Türkgücü and KSZ Bosna i Hercegovina are located. The center of the district is characterized by agricultural land, in the west is the Schinkeler Friedhof. To the south of it there is further residential development and an industrial area.

Transport links

The A 33 forms the eastern border of the district, and Schinkel-Ost is connected to the motorway via the Osnabrück-Lüstringen junction. The main roads are Mindener Straße in the south and Belmer Straße in the north.

The city bus routes 11/12/13 open up the main settlement via Windthorststraße and Ölweg, while the 91/92 drive via Mindener Straße.
