history

The village, which was built in the 10th century at the latest, was first mentioned in a document in 1270.

Abbot Bertho II. Von Leibolz exchanges with the Blankenau nunnery in 1270 and left the village of Slezinhusen (House of Slezo), which belonged to the monastery hospital in Fulda , to the same . For this, the property in Roßbach (Hünfeld), as well as the site where a fortified castle (castrum) once stood, was transferred to him as property.

In 1290 the lay sister (conversa) Cunigunde from the Blankenau monastery bequeathed "two Solidi Fuldaere Denarii" from her property in Slezenhusen to illuminate the monastery church. The village, which was owned by the von Lüder family, had a total of 13 interest payers in 1528. In 1543 25 people liable to pay interest lived in the village. In 1752 the rule of the von Lüder over the village ended.

In 1811 the village had 39 fire places with 286 souls and belonged to the Hosenfeld court.

After the incorporation of the hamlet of Gersrod on April 1, 1953, Schletzenhausen was incorporated into the new large community of Hosenfeld on December 31, 1971 as part of the regional reform of the State of Hesse.
