Fire-free is a village and one of the eight districts that make up the community of Hosenfeld in the Fulda district .

Geographical location

The place is on the western edge of the district of Fulda , on the eastern foothills of the Vogelsberg and south of Hosenfeld. The fire-free water flows through the place, which flows into the stream of the Jossa at Poppenrod . The "Steinküppel" (489 m) is the highest point in the Brandlos district. In the south, Brandlos borders the Hauswurz district of the Neuhof community.

history

The first documentary mention goes back to the year 1030. According to this, Brandlos is the oldest known part of the community of Hosenfeld. At that time, the founding document of the Neuenberg Provostry mentioned "Branthoheslah", the court of Brandolf, who can therefore be considered the founder of the place. An important Roman trade route between Mainz and Eisenach, the Antsanvia , ran through the area as early as the early Middle Ages . The village was assigned to the Fulda court of Hosenfeld and belonging to the noble family that of the Lords of Lüder. In 1528 the place name Brandlos was first mentioned. In the Turkish tax register of the abbey of Fulda from 1605 the place is mentioned under the name Brandes with 20 families. In 1787 Brandlos was assigned to the Blankenau prince abbey of Fulda . In 1812 there were 16 fireplaces and 120 souls and it was a daughter church of houseleek.

Reorganization

The formerly independent municipality of Brandlos was incorporated into the municipality of Hosenfeld on December 31, 1971 as part of the regional reform of the State of Hesse.

Religions

As of December 31, 2006, 128 inhabitants belonged to the Catholic and 13 Protestant religions. 9 residents belonged to a different or no denomination.

Catholic religion

Brandlos was the only part of Hosenfeld that belonged to the Catholic parish of St. Bartholomew Houseleek (Neuhof) , which was assigned to the pastoral association Christ the Redeemer Flieden-Houseleek and thus to the diocese of Fulda .

Change: With effect from the 1st Sunday in Advent 2017 there was a change in the parish boundaries. From the 1st of Advent, Rev. Weitzel leaves the parish of Hauswurz with the villages of Weidenau, Kauppen, Brandlos and Buchenrod. Since the parish of houseleek no longer has its own pastor due to the lack of priests, it is also looked after by the parish of St. Michael Neuhof. The village was Brandlos " umgepfarrt " ie Brandlos heard from the first Advent to the Parish of St. Peter and Paul Hosenfeld. After the changes in the regional reform in Hesse , the church structures were also adapted to local conditions.

The place does not have its own church ; nevertheless heralds daily for Angelus in the since 1997 the on the town house as a roof turret built bell tower hanging of St. Andrew - bell .

Traditionally - probably due to a vow remembering a medieval plague - the so-called "Mice Day" is celebrated every year on March 17th on St. Gertrude with a service in the community center. St. Gertrude is invoked against plagues of mice and rats.

Evangelical religion

The Protestant residents are assigned to the parish of the Kreuzkirche in Fulda - Neuenberg and are looked after by the Protestant parish office there. Protestant services are also held at regular intervals in the Catholic parish church of St. Peter and Paul in Hosenfeld.

societies

The only association in town is the Brandlos volunteer fire brigade , which was founded in 1952 as a non-legal association. Since there are no other associations in Brandlos, the fire brigade, in addition to ensuring fire protection, as part of the overall fire brigade in the fire protection network of the eight fire brigades in the municipality of Hosenfeld, is particularly committed to promoting traditional customs and the idea of home. With its volunteer members in the operations department and the financial resources of the community of Hosenfeld, it ensures fire protection in the fire-free area. In addition to the operations department, there is the age and honor department, which, together with the passive members and the youth fire department, also carries out the work of the fire department . Wehrführer is currently Thomas Faust.

Infrastructure

Community facilities:

The necessary village infrastructure represent the community center with a bell tower with the St. Andrew Angelus bells and adjoining fire station , a community freezing plant and a community livestock scales and a cemetery safely.

The room of the former community cattle scale in the community center was assigned to the fire station as a training room by the community in 2011 because it was not used by the agricultural sector, and the members of the volunteer fire brigade were responsible for renovating it.

The town house is a playground attached for the smallest inhabitants.

Opposite the community center is a village bakery from the previous century which is still used occasionally.

The bell tower has a total height of 5.36 m. The steel bell with the strike tone “h” has a weight of 75 kg and originally comes from Aachen . The bell is dedicated to St. Joseph , the patron saint of the dying. The blessing of the redesigned tower and bell took place on June 19, 2011 by Pastor Andreas Weitzel, parish of St. Bartholomew Houseleek.
