Cottenau Castle

Cottenau Castle is a former noble residence in Cottenau in the Upper Franconian district of Kulmbach .

The castle is located 496 m above sea level on the western edge of the village on a hillside and above the village pond. The Peter and Paul Church , which is also part of the historic town center, is some distance away . The elongated, two-story building with a half- hipped roof is a monument . The half-timbering of its upper floor is plastered . The core of the current building dates from the late 18th century.
