Zultenberg tower hill

The Tower Hill Zultenberg is an Outbound medieval motte (Motte) towards "Görauer Anger" west of Zultenberg , a district of the market town Kasendorf in the district of Kulmbach in Bavaria .

history

Presumably the tower hill was the nucleus of the place. In 1371 a fortified court or castle stable is mentioned "zu dem Zultenberg".

In 1371 Heinrich Rauschner received permission from Bishop Ludwig von Bamberg to build a wooden house ( Lindenberg Castle ) on a meadow in "Lyntenberg" . After that they called themselves Rauschner von Lindenberg . The Rauschner were Ministeriale of the Andechs-Meranier .

A short moat is still visible from the former moth enclosure directly on the steep drop of the "Görauer Angers", surrounded by a horseshoe-shaped inner ditch with an outer wall.
