Build a baroque palace on a dominant hill in the Elbe valley based on plans by the architect Johann Blasius Santini-Aichl . It has an unusual floor plan: three square, three-storey side wings are each attached with a corner to a round central building that towers over them. The construction management was entrusted to Franz Maximilian Kaňka . The spacious castle contained an important hunting collection and horse pictures from the Hamilton School, which indicate the merits of the Kinsky family in horse breeding. It was the residence of the older line of Counts Kinsky, one of the famous families in the history of the country of Bohemia. The last owner of the Chlumetz estate before the expropriation by Czechoslovakia in 1948 was Zdenko Radslav Graf Kinsky.

When Emperor Charles VI. On the occasion of his coronation as King of Bohemia, the castle, which was surrounded by a magnificent park, paid a visit in 1723, the complex was named Karlskron in his honor .

An exhibition at the Castle Karlova Koruna includes memories of the life of the noble family Kinsky and of oktavian kinsky founded Chlumec horse breeding Kinsky horses . The Marienkapelle in the castle park served the Count Kinsky as a family crypt. After it was expropriated in 1948, the interior was removed and the chapel was used as a warehouse. After the restoration of the complex, it was renovated by the Kinsky family and is once again used as a sacred space.
