Doudleby nad Orlicí castle
The Doudleby Castle (German: Daudleb ) is located in the village of the same name Doudleby nad Orlicí in the Okres Rychnov nad Kněžnou in the Czech Republic .
history
On the site of a former fortress , which was first mentioned in 1545, Nikolaus d. Ä. from Bubna (noble family) and Lititz (Mikuláš z Bubna) 1585–1590 a four-wing renaissance castle with an inner courtyard. After 1650 the castle was decorated with frescoes in the Baroque style and in 1700 the castle chapel was built, which was consecrated to the Holy Family . The outer walls of the castle are richly decorated with sgraffito .
The castle was initially used as a hunting lodge, as the Bubna resided in Senftenberg until the beginning of the 19th century . In the first quarter of the 19th century, the diplomat Ferdinand von Bubna und Littitz , who was temporarily governor general of Piedmont , Savoy and Nice , resided at Doudleby Castle. After the Second World War , the Bubna family was expropriated. After the political change , the castle was restituted to the descendants of the von Bubna family by the Czech Republic.
