The Seattle Americans were an American ice hockey franchise of the Western Hockey League based in Seattle , Washington .

The Seattle Americans were founded as a franchise for the Western Hockey League for the 1955/56 season . Previously, another team from the city had already played in the WHL from 1952 to 1954 with the Seattle Bombers . The team's most successful season was the 1956/57 season , in which they reached first place in their division. In the following playoffs for the Lester Patrick Cup , however, the team could not prevail.
Following the 1957/58 season , the team stopped playing. The void it left in the city was subsequently filled by the Seattle Totems .
