The Brandon Regals were a Canadian ice hockey franchise of the Western Hockey League based in Brandon , Manitoba .

history

The team was founded for the 1955/56 season as a franchise of the Western Hockey League . In their premiere season, the Regals ran half in their home games as Regina / Brandon Regals in Regina , Saskatchewan and Brandon , Manitoba . However, since the team only finished fifth in its division, it was decided to spend the 1956/57 season exclusively in Brandon, Manitoba. This season you could improve to first place in your own division. For the 1957/58 season it was decided again to let the team play their home games in two different cities. In Saskatoon , Saskatchewan, they played as Saskatoon Regals, while home games in Saint Paul , Minnesota were played under the name of St. Paul Saints. The team spent the last season in franchise history in Saskatoon again. There they chose the name Saskatoon Quakers, which numerous other teams from the city and previously also another WHL franchise had used in the past.
