Ihor Senjuk ( Ukrainian Ігор Зенюк ; born May 25, 1991 in Lemberg ) is a Ukrainian natural track tobogganist . He rides in single and double seater and has been competing in the World Cup as well as in World and European Championships since 2006 .
Career
Ihor Senjuk took part in two single-seater World Cup races for the first time in January 2006 in Kindberg and Olang . As 38th, however, he only placed in the bottom field and came 54th in the overall World Cup of the 2005/2006 season . At the 2006 European Championships in Umhausen , he was 39th among 44 starters. At the 2006 Junior World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , Senjuk came in Single-seater came fourth from last in 34th place and started together with Vitaly Sakharov for the first time in a double-seater. However, the duo was disqualified in the second round.
Starting with the 2006/2007 season , Ihor Senjuk and Vitaly Sakharov also took part in two-seater World Cup races together for three years. While they only achieved twelfth and three 15th places in their first winter, they finished four times in the top ten in the next two years, placing them tenth overall in the 2007/2008 season and ninth in the 2008/2009 season occupied. At the Junior World and European Championships, they achieved their best result in Longiarü in 2009 when they reached fourth place. In the single-seater, Ihor Senjuk was able to improve steadily during these years. While he was among the fastest 30 in the World Cup in the 2006/2007 season, he achieved it three times in the winter of 2007/2008 and finished 33rd in the overall World Cup , tied with the Slovenian Luka Švab . In the 2008/2009 season he even finished under the fastest 30 in all six World Cup races and achieved his best ever World Cup result with 25th place at the season finale in Nowouralsk . In the overall World Cup he still missed the top 30 by four points and was 31st. In the junior division, his best result was 18th place at the 2009 European Junior Championships in Longiarü. In title fights in the general class, Ihor Senjuk drove at the European Championship 2008 in Olang in 27th place in the single-seater and with Vitaly Sakharov in twelfth place in the doubles. At the 2009 World Championships in Moos in Passeier , he finished 30th in the single-seater and with Sakharov again in twelfth place in the doubles. Senjuk thus achieved the best results ever for a Ukrainian in both the single and the doubles at both world and European championships. The double Sakharov / Senjuk started at the 2009 World Cup together with Michaela and Georg Maurer as a German-Ukrainian team in the team competition and achieved seventh place out of ten teams. At the 2007 World Championships Senjuk had been unable to attend because of the Ukrainian Association of any athlete in the Canadian Grande Prairie sent.
In the 2009/2010 season , Senjuk's long-time double partner Vitaly Sakharov no longer competed, which is why Ihor Senjuk started the first World Cup race with Marjan Husner . However, the duo retired in the first round and did not participate in any other races. Senjuk only started in the single-seater in the first two World Cup races in Novouralsk and finished 27th twice. After that he did not take part in any more competitions in the 2009/2010 season. He contested his next international races at the 2011 World Championships in Umhausen , where he finished 30th in the single-seater, and at the 2011 European Junior Championships in Laas , where he was 17th. Then he also took part in the last two World Cup races of the 2010/2011 season, in which he finished 26th twice. In the last race in Olang Ihor Senjuk started together with Andrij Wertuk in the two-seater. They took ninth place as the penultimate. In the 2011/2012 season Senjuk only took part in one World Cup race in a single-seater: In Železniki he finished 30th.
