Shadows Chasing Ghosts was a post-hardcore / metalcore band from Essex, UK, founded in 2007 .
history
The group Shadows Chasing Ghosts was founded in 2007 by Trey Tremain ( vocals ), Matt Jones ( guitar ), Damian Cummins (guitar, replaced by Jack Mackrill in 2011), Danny Green ( bass ) and Danny Coy ( drums ) in the British city of Essex . The band name "Shadows Chasing Ghosts" came about after weeks of deliberation. The band members talked about horror films with "stupid names" and made jokes by other names. At some point someone puzzled these three words together so that the current name of the group came about. The debut album "The Golden Ratio" was released in August 2010 on the British label Small Town Records . The group has toured several European countries, including Germany with While She Sleeps . The band has also performed at several festivals, including the Moshpit Open Air in Sweden, where Enter Shikari , Yashin , Young Guns , Deaf Havanna and Campus also performed. The group headlined the Butserfest (including My Passion , Bury Tomorrow , Deaf Havana, We Are the Ocean and Fei Comodo). In May 2011 Shadows Chasing Ghosts played six concerts with Fei Comodo in England. In August 2011, Shadows Chasing Ghosts played at the Belgian Ieper Hardcore Fest , where the group performed together with Xibalba , Drop Dead and Reiziger on the “Marquee Stage”.
In February and March 2012, Shadows Chasing Ghosts played a UK tour with Eyes Set to Kill . On July 2, 2012, the group's second album was released under the name "Lessons" via Small Town Records. In November Shadows Chasing Ghosts were together with We Butter the Bread with Butter as the opening act for the “We Created a Monster Tour” by the Scottish band Yashin, which led through the Republic of Ireland , Scotland and England .
In March 2013 the group was to tour Europe as a headliner for the first time. As support were Urma Sellinger , Turn the Tables (except UK) and Hildamay (UK only) to see. The shows in Europe were canceled, however, so that only concerts took place on the "island". An Australia concert tour was originally planned for September to support Haste the Day . However, the group announced on May 9, 2013 that it would split up beforehand.
Music genre
Musically, the group is influenced by musicians such as Anthony Green ( Circa Survive ) or Brien Worsham ( Secret Lives of the Freemasons ). The group’s music is compared with You Me at Six and Architects .
