Shane Harper (born February 1, 1989 in Valencia , California ) is an American ice hockey player who was last under contract with HK Lada Tolyatti from the Continental Hockey League and played for this on the position of the left winger .
Career
Harper played a total of five seasons for the Everett Silvertips in the Western Hockey League between 2005 and 2010 , where he was appointed to the Second All-Star Team of the Western Conference in his final season.
Un drafted, he was committed in March 2010 by the Philadelphia Flyers from the National Hockey League , for which he was mainly used in the American Hockey League in the following three years . There he played for their farm team , the Adirondack Phantoms . In June 2013, a few weeks before his contract expired, the striker was given a four-round vote in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft to the New York Islanders , who in return let Mark Streit move to Philadelphia. Since the Islanders were not interested in a continued employment Harper, he only found a new employer in September 2013 in the Chicago Wolves from the AHL. He remained loyal to them for two years. His second year with the Wolves he finished with 32 goals and thus the third best goalscorer in the league.
Before the 2015/16 season , the American was given a one-year contract by the Florida Panthers from the NHL, with which they used him during the season in the AHL with the Portland Pirates . The contract was extended for another year in May 2016. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season , Harper finally earned a place in the Panthers NHL squad, but returned to the AHL a little later. In March 2017, the Panthers gave him to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for Reece Scarlett . There he came to the end of the season exclusively with the Albany Devils in the AHL to use before his contract expired. In September 2017 he finally received a trial contract with the Los Angeles Kings , which did not result in a permanent engagement. The attacker then moved to HK Lada Tolyatti in the Continental Hockey League in October 2017 .
